Visionary

Season one - Episode Six Part 7
Episode written by Whitetiger4 & Kittsbud

Early the next morning, Chloe found herself at the Kent Farm. She knew Clark would be up doing some kind of farm chores. She parked her car next to the Kent’s truck, climbed out and went to look for him. She finally saw him walking across one of the fields. He was carrying something large under his arm. As he came closer, she realized it was a calf. She watched him carry the large animal into the paddock with ease and set it on the ground gently. Then it hit her; Clark was carrying a mid-sized calf with one arm. She blinked and shook her head slightly. Wait. Hold on. Just how strong is he? There is no way anyone could carry an animal that size with one arm. That has to be at least 500 pounds or more! And he’s carrying it like it’s as light as a feather! She noticed he wasn’t using his other arm much. Hmmm, he said his shoulder would be okay. Was he wrong? Or did Teri do more damage than he thought?

Her curiosity getting the best of her, she walked up to the fence and was able to see the calf was hurt. She was touched by how gently and caringly Clark was tending to the injured animal. He was petting the calf’s head and talking softly as he looked it over to see how much damage had been done.

Clark was so focused on taking care of the calf, that he hadn’t noticed Chloe standing there, so he jumped a little when she spoke. “Hey, Clark. What happened?” She asked, walking over and squatting next to Clark and the calf.

Clark looked at her with a troubled expression. “Well, I’m not really sure. I found her out on the far end of the south field, near the fence. Some of the boards of the fence were busted.” He was checking her fur for splinters as he spoke, “She must have tried to get through the hole and cut herself.” The calf mooed pitifully and tried to stand up in protest to Clark’s prodding. “Shh, it’s okay, girl.”

Chloe peered down at the little cow feeling bad for it. “Aw. Is she gonna be okay?” She asked as she watched Clark continue to try and sooth the animal. She was impressed with how tender Clark was being and how the calf seemed to respond to Clark. It’s as if she knows she’s safe and that he’s trying to help her.

“I don’t know.” Clark frowned, “It looks pretty bad. I better get my dad.” Clark stood up and Chloe started petting the calf’s head like Clark had done.

Chloe waited there while Clark went to the house to get Jonathan. She smiled down at her new friend and said, “Ya know, I never thought I’d say this about a cow, but you are kinda cute.” She laughed. “Don’t worry, Clark and Mr. Kent will fix you up.” Here’s a story for the Wall of Weird, ‘Chloe Sullivan, city girl, tends to injured cow on Kent Farm.’ She grinned to herself as Clark and Jonathan came back out to the paddock.

Jonathan looked the animal over and frowned. “I think we need to call the vet. She’s got some deep cuts.” Clark and Chloe stayed with the cow until Jonathan came back out. “Vet will be here soon.” He clapped a hand on his son’s back. “Clark, why don’t you get that fence fixed so none of the rest of the herd gets hurt.” Clark nodded and walked away.

The two teens left the cow in the capable hands of Jonathan and the vet, once he arrived. Chloe followed Clark into the barn, determined to find out about his shoulder and have the talk she hadn’t forgotten about.

Clark knew he owed Chloe and explanation, but he didn’t know where to even begin. After his conversation with Abe, there were even more unanswered questions in his life than before. How can I answer Chloe’s questions when I don’t even have all the answers myself? He headed to the other side of the barn to get the materials he needed to fix the fence. He noted the fact that Chloe was watching him intently, with an expectant look on her face.

Chloe watched Clark move around the barn, gathering up some boards and nails. He’s still not using that arm much. “What are you doing?” She asked.

“I gotta fix the fence before any more of the herd gets hurt on it, remember?” Okay, so I’m stalling, but it’s the truth. It does need to be fixed.

When he turned away, Chloe stepped toward him. “I mean, how’s your shoulder? Are you sure you should be working on a fence?” She asked, carefully grabbing his arm and placing her hand on his shoulder.

Startled, Clark replied, “It’s fi…”

“Don’t you dare say it, Clark!” Chloe scolded. She could tell there was no bandage over the wound. “Cause if it’s fine, then why are you favoring this arm?”

“It’s just a little sore is all.” Clark told her. He was a little frustrated but he knew he had to tell her something, he just wasn’t sure he was ready yet.

Chloe raised an eyebrow at him. “Okay, so yesterday it was a gaping hole and today it’s just a little sore? Come on, Clark. Let me see it.” She reached for his shirt and started to unbutton it, but Clark stopped her.

“Chloe…” Clark started to object, but Chloe cut him off.

“Clark, just let me look.” She said softly, and resumed unbuttoning his shirt. Clark sighed and let her. He knew he was going to have to tell her eventually, after what had happened the day before.

She couldn’t believe it. Even with all she’d seen so far, it was amazing. Where yesterday there had been a huge hideous stab wound, today there was only a red mark. She lightly ran her fingers along it. “Wow, that healed fast.” She paused, staring at his lack of a wound for a moment. “Um Clark, remember when you said you’d explain everything later?” He nodded, knowing what was coming. “Well, I think it’s later.”

Clark sighed and sat down on a bale of hay. “Chloe, to be honest, I don’t even know where to begin.” He didn’t look up at her. He kept his eyes cast to the barn floor.

Chloe sat down beside him and wrapped her arm around his shoulders, “Start from the beginning and with the truth.”

Clark didn’t say anything for several minutes. Not sure what to even say, he continued to stare at the floor. Chloe sat beside him waiting patiently. She was dying for answers but she didn’t want to pressure him.

A million thoughts and questions were running through Clark’s head. How do I tell my girlfriend that I’m an alien? Is she gonna freak out? What if she thinks I’m a freak or just crazy? I don’t want to end up on her Wall of Weird, but I guess you could say I am the weirdest thing in Smallville. Clark let out another sigh, as his mind continued to ramble jumbled thoughts at him.

“Clark?” Chloe gently prompted after several more minutes of silence. Thinking she knew why he was hesitant to talk to her, and hoping to allay his worry, she said, “Look, I know you are afraid to tell me what’s going on, but you don’t have to be.” She smiled and took his hand in hers. “I really meant it when I told you I’d rather have a friend than a subject. It’s obvious you don’t want anyone to know about this.” She pointed to his almost healed shoulder. “And I understand that. I promise, I’m not gonna write a story about you.” It was her turn to look at the floor. “If I wanted to do that, I would have already.”

Clark looked at her curiously, “What do you mean?”

Chloe didn’t really want to admit what she knew yet. She wanted Clark to tell her on his own terms, not because he felt trapped by her pressing for answers. “Well, I’ve noticed things, Clark. And I know you’re amazingly strong and fast. It was the meteor rocks, they affected you somehow and now you're allergic to them…” It was more of a statement than a question.

He thought about what she said for a moment and realized there had been several times recently when Chloe should have been suspicious of him, but wasn’t. Like in the torch office, or at Lex’s mansion, even at the hospital the other day. And then there was yesterday, she covered for me in front of Donna without even knowing the truth. Maybe I can trust her. She deserves the truth, well, as much of it as I know.

"Chloe, its not that simple. If I were just allergic to the rocks...well, maybe I could live with that...but the rocks are part of who I am…" He looked towards the telescope sitting so innocently by the window, but Chloe didn't take the hint, and he really didn’t want to have to come out with it.

Finally, she asked anyway. "Part of who you are? What do you mean?"

Clark inhaled; it was time to be frank. “Because they're from the same place I am..."

Chloe narrowed her eyes at him. “Clark, you’re not making any sense. What are you talking about?” Is he insane? The rocks are from space… What is he thinking?

Clark stood up and took a few steps across the barn. “I know you’re going to find this hard to believe. I didn’t even believe it at first when my dad told me, but I’m…” He paused for a moment, not completely sure how he wanted to word the rest of his sentence. He’d never told anyone his secret before. This is really hard. “Chloe, I’m from another planet.” He said in a rush and turned away from her, fearing her reaction.

She blinked at him then smirked, trying not to laugh. “Are you saying you’re an alien?” He nodded. Chloe stood up and walked around to face him again. She didn’t think he was serious, but she couldn’t detect even the faintest hint of a smile to indicate he was joking. “Oh my God, you’re not kidding! Wow.” She was stunned and for the moment, speechless.

“No, I’m not kidding. No one else besides my parents know, and now you.” Clark was scared of how Chloe might react. He prayed she really meant what she had said and wouldn’t write a story about him or think he was a freak.

“I wish you would have told me sooner…” She put up a hand to stop him from interrupting her, “but I understand why you didn’t. With all the other freaky things in this town and my Wall of Weird, I don’t really blame you. I’m a little hurt that you didn’t trust me, but I’m not mad at you.” She looked down at the floor for a moment, then back up at his face. “I’ve known there was something different about you for a while now. And after seeing what that kid Abe did, and how people feel about him and others, well, I understand you wanting to keep this a secret.” She paused again and gave him a small half-smile, “But are you sure you’re really an alien? You look pretty human to me.”

“There’s a spaceship in the storm cellar.” He said calmly, and walked over again to get the materials for the fence.

“Wait… are you… ha-ha! Now I know you’re joking with me! You really had me for a minute there!” Chloe laughed.

“There really is. I can show you… After I fix the fence.” He thought for a second. “Hey, just how long have you known that I was different?”

Chloe looked to the floor and bit her lip. “Um, so, you really have a spaceship in your cellar?” Clark just gave her a look telling her not to change the subject. She sighed and finally answered him. “Well, you remember Earnest Weaver?”

Clark nodded and shuddered at the memory. He sensed he wasn’t going to like what she said next. “Well, while he was living his second childhood through you, he kinda discovered some of the things you can do.” She looked up at him. “Just how fast can you run, Clark? I know it’s faster than a Land Rover.”

Clark looked at her shocked. “Uh, wow. Well, that explains why you weren’t surprised to see me at the mansion before you the night Lionel was hurt.” He mused almost to himself. “Uh, I’m not really sure how fast I can go. I’ve never really timed myself. I can run to Metropolis and back in about 3 minutes.” He grinned a little at the amazed look on Chloe’s face. “So uh, what else did he do?” Clark dreaded the answer but he needed to know.

“Ah well, not too much really. After making me chase him for almost an hour, he finally got tired and um, collapsed in the road.” Chloe looked away from him when she said that.

“And?” Clark prompted, knowing there was more she wasn’t telling him.

“I ran over you with a Land Rover.” Chloe blurted, looking up at him again. “It was an accident. I tried to stop in time, but I couldn’t. I thought I’d killed you, but when I finally managed to make myself get out and look, you were in one piece. I almost convinced myself I’d missed you, if it hadn’t been for the tire track across your chest…” She walked over to him. “I’d never been so scared and freaked out in my life, Clark.” It felt good to finally get this out in the open. She doubted Clark would flip out and go homicidal on her since he wasn’t a meteor freak after all. And that was a relief.

Clark’s eyes widened in surprise at her statement. “You… ran over me?” He couldn’t believe that! “Why didn’t you say anything sooner, Chloe?” He asked non-accusingly.

“I didn’t exactly know how to bring that up in a casual conversation.” She said shifting uncomfortably. “And I was a little scared to be honest. I didn’t know how you’d react if you knew I’d found out. You’ve obviously been keeping this secret a long time. After seeing how strong you were, I didn’t want you to get mad, so I didn’t mention it to you, or anyone else. The more time that passed, the more I wanted to tell you, but I just didn’t know what to say.”

He let her words sink in for a moment. He understood what she meant. Then only contact she’d had with people affected by the meteor rocks had turned out very badly, and ended up with her almost dying. He didn’t really blame her for not saying anything. I can’t believe she has known for so long and kept it to herself. He hated the fact she had been afraid of him, though.

Then a disconcerting thought hit him. “Chloe, I didn’t hurt you while he was in control, did I? How did you break your arm?” He had been in such a daze after that whole incident, that he hadn’t thought much about it, and had accepted her lame excuse of falling at home. How could I have been so stupid?

Chloe darted her eyes to the floor briefly, before she answered him, but Clark caught it and groaned. “No. Don’t worry about it, Clark. You didn’t hurt me.” She hadn’t wanted to tell him that Earnest had accidentally used Clark’s strength to break her arm with one hand, but she knew he would see through whatever she said.

He felt nauseous. “Oh Chloe, I am so sorry!” He gently placed his hand on her arm, feeling completely horrible for having hurt her, even though he wasn’t in control of his body at the time.

“It’s okay, Clark. It wasn’t your fault. It wasn’t even you! I don’t blame you, so I don’t wanna hear another word about it! Got it?” Clark nodded, even though he still felt awful about it.

She grinned at him and said, “So, what else can you do?” She wanted him to explain the heat and x-ray vision comments without her having to admit she was eavesdropping on him and his parents.

“Ah well…” Clark thought for a moment, “You know about my speed, strength and invulnerability. I still can’t believe you actually ran over me!” Clark said shaking his head and grinning goofily.

Chloe smirked at him. “Well, I still can’t believe you’re not a road pizza after that!”

Clark’s grin grew even wider and he shrugged. “Anyway, so that just leaves heat and um, x-ray vision.”

Chloe looked at him inquisitively, “Care to explain that?”

“Well, x-ray vision is just what it sounds like. I can see through anything.”

Chloe’s eyebrows shot up, “Anything??” She asked in disbelief.

“Except lead.” He said with a mischievous grin.

Suddenly, Chloe felt self-conscious. She sat back down on the hay bale and fidgeted uncomfortably.

Clark chuckled at her, “Don’t worry, Chloe. It only works when I concentrate and I don’t use it to invade people’s privacy.”

She looked at him skeptically, but decided to change the subject and not think about the fact that he’d said it was out of control after he got beat up. I sure hope it went back to normal, whatever that is. “Okay, what about this heat vision? I assume it has something to do with fire. Let me guess, you can set things on fire with your eyes?” She asked remembering his comment to his parents about fearing he’d burn the hospital down.

“Actually, yes. I can shoot beams of heat from my eyes.” Chloe looked at him in astonishment. “I know it sounds crazy but its true.” At first, it had been hard for him to open up and talk to Chloe, but now it was easier. He was relieved she wasn’t mad at him or freaking out. It did surprise him to learn she already knew part of his secret. He suspected that had actually made this easier and had helped her accept the truth better.

Chloe was still looking at him in disbelief when Jonathan walked into the barn. “Clark? Son, what are you doin’? That fence still needs to be fixed.”

“Uh yeah, I know Dad, I was just about to go fix it.” Clark answered, and gathered the supplies for the third time.

Chloe grinned at Clark and then turned to his father, “Hey Mr. Kent, how’s Scully? Is she gonna be okay?”

Jonathan raised an eyebrow, “Scully?”

“Yeah, the little cow, I thought Scully would be a good name for her.” Clark was trying his best not to crack up at Chloe’s comment and the look on his dad’s face.

“Um yeah, she’ll be fine. The vet just left.” Jonathan assured her with an amused smile of his own.

Chuckling, Clark said, “Come on, Chloe. You wanna come with me?”

“Sure.”

Once they got out to the broken part of the fence, Chloe’s eyes narrowed and her nose crinkled in concentration. Clark recognized that look and knew she had just slipped into reporter mode. “What is it?” He asked.

“Well,” Chloe stated, walking closer to the fence for a better look. “It looks like some large and very aggressive animal charged through that fence. Are cows usually overly aggressive?”

“They can be at times. It’s not unheard of for a cow or a bull to crash a fence if they have a calf with them or feel threatened.” Clark answered with a shrug.

“Hmm.” Chloe said continuing to scrutinize the boards. “Clark, the fence is broken in from the outside. I would say something was trying to get in rather than out.”

Clark hadn’t noticed it before because he was paying more attention to the injured calf, but he could see Chloe was right. “Yeah, I see what you mean. But I doubt it means anything. Come on Chlo’ haven’t you had enough weirdness lately. It’s just a broken fence.” Clark shook his head and laughed at his girlfriend’s overactive imagination.

“Fine.” Chloe scowled at him. “Just hurry up and fix it so we can go eat your mom’s breakfast and you can show me that heat vision thingy.” She grinned and after a moment’s thought added, “Oh and the spaceship. Don’t forget the spaceship!”

Clark grinned at her with a mischievous glint in his eye and zipped over to fix the fence. Chloe was impressed with his awesome strength and speed. She couldn’t help but smile as she watched him repair the fence in only a few seconds.

“That’s gonna take some getting used to.” Chloe said with a playful smirk.

Clark smiled. It felt good to be himself in front of Chloe. He was happy that she was okay with the truth. It was as if a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders.

Out of nowhere, an idea struck Clark and he scooped Chloe up in his arms. She yelped in surprise. “CLARK! What are you doing?”

“I thought you wanted me to hurry up so you could eat breakfast. Hold on!” Before Chloe could even begin to think of a retort, Clark went into super-speed and brought them back to the house. He didn’t go anywhere near his top speed, not wanting to hurt Chloe. But it was still pretty fast.

He stopped next to a tree near the house, and set Chloe down. She staggered for a second, and then looked at him in wide-eyed awe. She didn’t know how to describe what she had just experienced. It was exhilarating, almost like standing up in a convertible with the top down, going 100 mph.

Once she was able to speak, she narrowed her eyes at him and said, “Oh my God! I don’t know if I should slap you or kiss you! That scared the crap out of me!” She then flashed him a megawatt smile, “But it was totally cool too!”

“Are you sure you’re okay?” Clark laughed.

Chloe nodded. “Okay, so now that you’ve shown me your race car impression, when do I get to see an example of that heat vision thing?” She asked, placing her hands on her hips.

Clark looked thoughtful for a moment. Glancing around the area, he spotted a tree and smiled. “Keep your eyes on that tree trunk.”

Chloe crinkled her nose at him again, but did as he asked. Clark focused his eyes on the tree and it started smoldering. Then as she watched, she could see letters being burned into the bark. She looked back at Clark, who was staring intently at the tree, and she could just make out a faint orange glow in his eyes.

Once he was finished, he turned to Chloe and smiled, waiting for her reaction. Chloe looked at Clark then back at the tree. She grinned and blushed a little as she saw what he had burned into the bark. It was “CS” with a little heart below it and “CK” underneath that. She was amazed and she thought it was incredibly sweet too.

“Wow Clark, that’s so amazingly sweet.” She leaned up, pulling him down a little by his collar and kissed him.

After a few minutes, they broke the kiss and Chloe looked back at the tree and then at Clark again. “Ya know, all this is really gonna take some getting use to.” She thought for a minute then asked. “What planet are you from?” She snickered, “I can’t believe I’m asking that as a serious question.”

Clark tilted his head toward the sky and sighed, “I don’t know the name of it. I think the meteor rocks are from the same planet though, since I arrived in the meteor shower with them and because of the effect they have on me.”

“So, I was right you are allergic to the rocks? That’s how Teri was able to hurt you, because of Lana’s necklace.” Clark nodded. “Well, then how did that guy Abe beat you up? Did he have a green rock in his pocket?”

Clark frowned at her comment but answered. “No, and that is what scares me. He didn’t need one to do what he did. He’s stronger than me. And he heals fast too.”

“Wait, you don’t think… Is he from the same planet as you?”

“I don’t know,” Clark shrugged. He sat down leaning his back against the tree, and pulled Chloe onto his lap. “Either that or I’m a lab experiment like him. I don’t have his telekinesis though.”

“I thought you said there was a spaceship in the storm cellar?” Chloe raised an eyebrow at him with a grin.

“There is, but it’s never done anything.” Clark stopped talking as he remembered what he’d found out about his adoption. “That night at the Torch before Abe got there, I found my adoption record still on your computer…”

“I know Clark, and I can explain.” Chloe interrupted him. “You remember when I asked you if you ever thought about your biological parents? You said, every day of your life. I only saved that file incase you ever changed your mind. I thought that we could look for them and find out what happened to them together. I had no idea at the time it would be impossible. I never intended to hurt you or make you angry.”

“I was mad at first, but I did learn something. Lionel Luthor was the one who arranged my adoption. And he also did three others around the same time as the meteor shower. When Abe came in, he saw the file and told me that Lionel had stolen him from his family. He thought I was like him because I lived through his beating.” Clark looked down at the ground. “What if he’s right?”

“Well, if that was the case, then why didn’t you grow up in a lab? And where did the ship come from?” Chloe asked, wrapping her arm around him.

“I dunno.” Clark shrugged again. “He asked me the same thing about the lab. He seemed jealous and I don’t really blame him for that, I guess. He said he didn’t want to hurt anyone; he just didn’t want to go back to the lab. I think he thought I could help him.”

“Clark, I know you’re not still thinking of trying to stop him!” She sat up, straddled his lap and looked him in the eye. “He put you and Lana in the hospital, dislocated Lex’s shoulder, left you hanging upside down in the middle of the Torch office and almost killed Lionel. He is dangerous, even to you!” She shook her head. “I’ll still never get over the sight of you, upside down in the middle of the room, looking terrified. I still don’t know how he did it since he wasn’t even there.”

“I was in the middle of the room?” Clark asked confused.

“Yes” Chloe said, sliding off his lap onto the ground next to him.

The last thing he remembered was slamming into the wall. “I thought I was against the wall.”

“Nope,” Chloe shook her head again. “You were almost hovering over my desk. Another foot over and you’d have crashed onto my computer when you fell.”

“No, I couldn’t have been…unless…”

“Unless what?”

“Unless I was floating. I’ve woke up floating a few times. But no, there has to be another explanation.” Clark said, standing up and taking a few steps away.

Chloe walked up behind him and placed her hands on his shoulders, “Didn’t you say you thought you were up really high? Maybe you were subconsciously keeping yourself in the air to keep from falling?”

“Maybe.” Clark agreed turning to face her, still amazed at how calmly she was taking everything. “I do have a fear of heights,” he admitted with a slight blush.

Chloe giggled as Martha’s voice floated across the farm, “Breakfast is ready!” She called from the porch.

Clark grinned at Chloe, scooped her up again and raced to the porch. “CLAAAAARRRK!!!!!!!!”

Phil Stern tugged the wheel of his truck to the left and pulled hard over onto the grass verge. He had just left the Kent farm after tending an injured calf, and was feeling pretty annoyed with himself. Jonathan Kent was an old friend, and a good customer, and Phil felt he owed him a certain amount of respect. So why the hell didn’t you tell him what you thought happened to that calf?

Stern reached for the keys in his ignition, but paused, unsure whether to turn back, or go home. The little cow was going to be alright, so there was no real harm done, but a deep niggling sensation told him it hadn’t had an accident. Those injuries weren’t caused by a broken fence and I know it…I haven’t seen anything like that in these parts before, but…

Remembering cases of cattle mutilations he’d read about, Stern cringed. Some had been purely kids practical jokes, other reports had gone as far as maybe even some kind of satanic rituals. I know the Kents aren’t involved, but maybe I should still go back and mention it. Perhaps get Ethan to check on other farmers and their stock…

Finally, making a decision to turn back and have a quiet word with Jonathan, Stern restarted his vehicle and spun it around. It would only take a couple of minutes to get back to the farm, but as he passed the nearest field, he jammed on his brakes and began to wonder. Maybe I should just get the hell out of here…

It had only been a fleeting glimpse, but Phil was pretty sure he had seen a figure climb over one of the Kents fences, and it had been a teenager, of that he was sure. I think that was the kid I read about in the paper…and he’s described as armed and dangerous…

A pang of guilt crossed over the middle aged vet suddenly, and he climbed from his cab, chiding himself. “Probably imagined the whole thing…read too much in the news is all, and I maybe do need some new glasses…” He ambled up to the fence, glancing in both directions, but there was nothing. “Ha! No way could anyone vanish that quick…I need to go home, and stop seeing things that aren’t there!” He chuckled as he climbed back into his truck. I guess maybe the cow could have been hurt on a fence…

Stern knew in his heart that it hadn’t, and perhaps he knew too that he hadn’t imagined the rushing figure, but he would never tell anyone…not ever…

Kane raced across the Kent field, feeling the onrush of air as his speed increased. He leapt the nearest fence, and then settled down in the tree line, as he heard the roar of a truck’s engine. He watched, noting from a plate on the fender, that it belonged to a local vet. The irony brought a malicious smirk to his already evil face, and he brought out the knife he had hurt the calf with. Blood still tinged its blade, and the sight seemed to enthrall him. The Fletcher girl caused too much public attention for me to get close, Kent, but her little attacks were fun to watch. You squirm like a cornered animal, and that’s something I intend to see you do many times before I finish you for good…you and the rest of them…

Kane twirled the knife like a baton, and then darted between trees and foliage until he was close to the Kent house. Clark was with the girl, Chloe. The pair laughed and joked as if they had the rest of their lives ahead of them. You won’t laugh when I finish with you…but I want you to beg for your lives, I want you to see death coming, to stare it in the face and have to linger awhile before you die…

Planning his next moves would not come easy. Kane didn’t want to rush his revenge, he wanted Kent to see Abe’s final resting place, and know he was ultimately responsible for his death. I wouldn’t have killed my own brother! I loved him, but you made me angry, oh so angry…

A thought struck the delusional teen, and he shook with delight at the image. There was no way to lure Kent into the woods where Abe lay; he was far too suspicious now to fall for a simple trick. He won’t come willingly unless he has good reason…maybe one of the girls he’s so fond of, a parent, a friend… Kane backed up slightly. There had been too much media attention because of the Fletcher girl, but in the next few days when it all faded, someone close to Kent was going for a little trip into the woods. And believe me, whoever I choose will be staying in there, right beside Kent and my brother…Don’t worry though Clark, I’ll give you a good burial…
